ADOPT-A-STREAM
JCCD coordinates the Upper Grand River Watershed Adopt-A-Stream program. This program uses trained volunteers to collect aquatic organisms from the Grand River and its tributaries in the spring, fall, and winter each year. The data we collect under the Adopt-A-Stream program helps us assess water quality and the health of the Upper Grand River Watershed.
We have Spring, Fall and Winter collection events that are open to the public. You can find the most current volunteer opportunities here. These events are a fun way to get out and enjoy your local watershed, and you’ll be helping us monitor our water quality in the Jackson area!
For questions or to sign up to volunteer for an event, please contact Lori Fitzgibbons at 517-395-2082 or email lori.fitzgibbons@macd.org.
